Am I eligible for GERMAN CITIZENSHIP?

New law

After a 2021 change in citizenship law, it is a lot easier for descendants of persecuted people to become German.
Have you been unsuccessful in claiming German citizenship? You may have a new chance now.

Recent changes

The law creates new chances if your family lived in Germany but wasn’t German, if only one grandparent was German, or if your grandparents were unmarried. Dual citizenship or a military career are no longer an obstacle.
